7th January – YT & Solo Banton

Two of the tuffest UK lyricists at the mo, YT and Solo Banton will be passing the studio ahead of their show with Classic Wonder Veterans and Young Culture in Birmingham the same night.

This is an opportunity to get the two artists in combination, or separately!

8th January – Susan Cadogan

Most famous for her appearance on Top of the Pops singing the Lee Perry produced Hurt So Good  and their version of Fever , Susan Cadogan has also recorded hits with Ruddy Thomas, Mad Professor, recently put out a single with Ken Boothe, Love Story, as well as with the Friendly Fire Band amongst others, always preserving her sweet voice. This is a rare occasion to voice this artist at good rates!

16th January – Peppery

Jamaican born Dancehall artiste Peppery has been releasing both harcore dancehall and reggae songs for years, and his third album, Battlefield, is a roots reggae based album that has already had success with his tune Sipple Out Deh (with Friendly Fire Band),  Festival produced by Cut La Vis , and the title track Battlefield has already seen nuff airplay.

2nd February – Raphael

Italian based singer Raphael is back for his yearly visit to the studio with a new album with Californian label Sugar Cane Records, featuring his hit soundsystem tune Joker Soundboy alongside the great Tristan Palma, partly recorded in Jamaica with Dean Fraser.  His characteristic Marley-esque voice has made him one of the top European performing artistes.

20th-24th February (exact date TBC) – Michael Prophet

On the back of shows with the Friendly Fire Band, Michael Prophet is passing the studio ahead of his show at the Hare and Hounds for Simmer Down Lounge. 
Too many hits to mention from his Studio One To The Top to his latest More Love (voiced at Friendly Fire Studio) without forgetting his classic Gunman and his 90s hit Your Love, this is an artist you can’t afford not to have in your dub box.

BIGGATON Biog:

A natural gift of vocal diversity coupled with an outgoing spirit helped propel BIggaton onto the Jamaica Reggae scene, allowing him to perform his first major stage show in 1996 on the Rebel Salute Stage in his home-town of Mandeville

With his remarkable talent and skill, Biggaton went on to perform as an original member of David House Family, touring with Capleton in a plethora of big name shows on and off the island, and a worldwide following.

His timeless message is one of love, hope, upliftment and enlightenment, speaking to religious confusion, political corruption, poverty and crime.

In 2008, Biggaton was awarded Reggae Artiste of the Year at the Diamond awards held in Jacksonville, Florida.

He continues to electrify the stage with his knowledge and energetic performance touching the ears, eyes and hearts of the people: “Love Yourself, Be True and Be the Best of Who You Are in Righteousness. Selassie I, Emmanuel I, Marcus I, Mama Mennen I Jah RasTaFar I”

Available for dubs AND 45s, Dan Giovanni is a young upcoming artist, who is already very versatile – he can sing and DJ, and we are organising a dubplate session to help get his album off the ground, as he is set for big things!
