8th January – Susan Cadogan

susan-cadogan-dubplatesMost famous for her appearance on Top of the Pops singing the Lee Perry produced Hurt So Good  and their version of Fever , Susan Cadogan has also recorded hits with Ruddy Thomas, Mad Professor, recently put out a single with Ken Boothe, Love Story, as well as with the Friendly Fire Band amongst others, always preserving her sweet voice. This is a rare occasion to voice this artist at good rates!

16th January – Peppery

peppery-dubplate-17Jamaican born Dancehall artiste Peppery has been releasing both harcore dancehall and reggae songs for years, and his third album, Battlefield, is a roots reggae based album that has already had success with his tune Sipple Out Deh (with Friendly Fire Band),  Festival produced by Cut La Vis , and the title track Battlefield has already seen nuff airplay.

 

 

 

2nd February – Raphael

raphael-2017Italian based singer Raphael is back for his yearly visit to the studio with a new album with Californian label Sugar Cane Records, featuring his hit soundsystem tune Joker Soundboy alongside the great Tristan Palma, partly recorded in Jamaica with Dean Fraser.  His characteristic Marley-esque voice has made him one of the top European performing artistes.

20th-24th February (exact date TBC) – Michael Prophet

michael-prophetOn the back of shows with the Friendly Fire Band, Michael Prophet is passing the studio ahead of his show at the Hare and Hounds for Simmer Down Lounge. 
Too many hits to mention from his Studio One To The Top to his latest More Love (voiced at Friendly Fire Studio) without forgetting his classic Gunman and his 90s hit Your Love, this is an artist you can’t afford not to have in your dub box.

10th November – Murray Man

Just about managed to corner Murray Man between trips to Peru, Mexico and Ivory Coast, to get him in the studio for a dubplate session. One of the main actors on the UK Roots scene, with collaborations all over the world as well as his own Mellow Vibes label – Singer, DJ, Producer, get your orders in quick!

11th Nov  – Capital Letters

We are planning this session for as soon as JB is good to sing which will be at latest friday 11th – get your orders in quick in case it happens ealier!

Straight outta the Midlands, Capital Letters first LP on Greensleeves entitled HEADLINE NEWS is a classic album, with the single Smoking My Ganja which to this day remains an all time classic 12″.  Now working with Reggae Archives who have re-released the 12″ as well as a new album, Capital Letters are touring around the world and it’s a great honour to have both singers JB and Lukas in the studio for dubs and jingles, and a rare opportunity to voice exclusive dubs.

16th Nov  – Claire Angel

Claire Angel is a versatile DJ and Singer from Birmingham who has just gained notoriety by winning the Britain’s Got Talent competition. She has released tunes on many labels and can sing roots tunes same way as hardcore dancehall DJing and lovers rock. This is a good opportunity to get her in your box before she goes worldwide.

26th Nov – Solo Banton

Solo Banton is one of the top lyricists on the scene, and doesn’t stop releasing tunes as well as running the Classic Wonder Veterans Sound and the Vocal and Version nights. He will be in Birmingham this November for dubs and jingles.

30th Nov – Brakka General

Hailing outta Birmingham, Brakka General is a DJ who’s recent release on Peckings label, Live Cross the Road has booted up his profile, on top of his releases with Friendly Fire Music, Never Lean , and on Gappy Ranks’ Hot Coffee production What Kinda Grade
